How to Fail in Empire Without Really Trying (Or, What Did You Do in the Long War, Daddy?)

The good news is, Paul Wolfowitz is toast. The bad news is, George W. Bush will name his successor. There is so much instruction, moral and otherwise, in this one more disgraceful tale of what has become the most disgraceful—but also, unhappily, disastrous and destructive—government in the history of American government that one doesn’t know where to begin. In this case, we’ll move swiftly on from the masterminds (such as they are, since the notion of “mind” in regard to the current US administration is more rueful longing than realistic description) to the accomplices—or, to put it in terms more amenable to current American fashion (and flight from reality), the “codependents.”

  1. I thought I was on the MoveOn.org website reading this editorial. The most disgraceful etc government—com’on now.  Did you forget the clintons? W is still cleaning up their and that adm’s messes. You mention the “many disatrous and disstryctive things and only talk about Wolfitz.  But no mention of any young intern or blue dress.  I think Paul dealt with adult omen and smart ones at that.  You can’t have it both ways—OK for clinton and his personal life but not Wolfitz.  And, don’t rely on any deals between them at the WB—it was all on the table.  Its a ludicrous, vicious Soros’ plot to get Bush in any way.

Calling the following destructive borders on the irrational:

    Tax cuts= great economy

    Two magnificent Supreme Court judges

Taking no crap from those nutty muslims any more ( remember Reno and Clinton)

See what Tony Blair said at the recent WH visit.

Great homeland security and protection ( how many times we’re we hit around the world (1992-2000)?

Lot’s of accusations but no stick—W is another Teflon Prez. How many of the Clinton higher up went to jail? Scooter is only one for a non-crime event….

Hate is all the libs can do.

    Ever hear of Sandy Berger?

And the Hallibuton contract—it was awarded, a 10 year deal, by the clinton adm in its first term Get the facts.

And, Wilson-Plame-he was proven a liar in his Senate hearing, and she appears to be a liar ala clinton.

You can have your own opinions—but not your facts. Make alist of all the bad things.

I could go on and on… but I know the lib mind.  It is mushy and unchangeable and cannot compete in the arena of ideas.  only baseless hateful attacks…

  2. Both Paul Wolfowitz and George W. Bush have led an illustrious and joyful career for themselves, as for the rest…Who cares about the rest

  3. No surprise here regarding the comments. Greek rightwingers and their blackest counterparts -Greek-American rightwingers- have inherited many black shirts from the closet of fascism.
    What an ugly bunch!

  4. Mr. Dandolos,

Typical leftist-liberal response—NAME CALLING. Y’all just cannot respond and compete in the arena of ideas and facts.
